Ga Ga's for Garland

Time to move on from my little meltdown.  I'm feeling much better and just have to continue on.  I was recently in a swap for garlands and this is what I made for Jen Bowles.  I'll have to figure out later how to load it on the other site.  I loved the way it turned out.  I've never made a garland, so it challenged me a bit.  I had to do a little thinking, but once I saw these little wooden tags at Hobby Lobby...it was on!

Another picture of my old house.  I guess I am reminiscing.  All this was done about 6 years ago. They have sooo much more to offer now, but at the time,  I thought it was top notch.  I painted my walls and my ceilings black.  It was sharp.  My builder thought I was absolutely crazy.  Anyways....can you tell that I am a fan of black.  I have used it sooo much now, that I am actually growing a little tired.  Don't get me wrong, I still love black.  Everyone loved this bathroom, and several of my friends went home and painted one of their rooms black.  It's only paint!!!  The floors were travertine, and the tile went up on the walls, so it was never dark, as my builder thought it would be.  He actually complimented me after he saw the end result.  Don't be looking at my fake plants either!!!   (I still like the palm one).  Also, the mirror was two sided so my TV showed through the mirror.  Gosh... I sit here and look at that picture thinking about all the cool options that are available now, and what I will choose next time....and the fact that it already will be dated in a mere 10 years....yeeeks!  Will I ever be satisfied?

After...I saw the potetial in these immediately.  I purchased one with the idea that I would paint the seat turquoise and put it in my scrap room.  I brought it in and just sat it at the end of my island until I got ready to paint.... my kids just fell in love and fought over it on a daily basis.  I knew that there were two of them at trade days in Canton, Tx, but I would have to wait until next month to see if they still had it.  Luckily they did.  Now both boys have their own barstool, even though the island only has a spot for one, I will sacrifice a look to not have a fight everyday..  Would love to put a zebra cushion on them for the final pop, but it just is not practical with two messy boys!

This is my entry table.  I went into the woods and got some branches and painted black.  made little ghost and tied orange ribbons....supercute!

Enter If You Dare!

Well the birthday party was a success!  Everyone had so much fun and really enjoyed my extensive halloween/fall decor.  I am taking a little break today, after going 90 to nothing to get everything ready.  We got so many lingering projects done before the party and it feels so good to get those things checked off!  I will leave you with a trip through our haunted woods.  Everyone had so much fun on the hayrides.  I only spooked the very end of the ride, because that neck of the woods gets really creepy.  The night hayrides were the best.  I brought a flashlight and shined on all the spooks.  The kids loved it and nobody got tooooo spooked.  In a few years, we'll REALLY scare them!  Enjoy the trip!  It's all in good Fun!

Crazy busy!

This week has been nuts!  I have been extremely productive though....nothing like having a party at my home to really light the fire under my rear.  I have completed so many of those petty things and some big things, but I'll have to share later.  business is busy as well.  I have been trying to talk my client into bamboo shades  for over a year now and she finally did it.  This was my big whole house remodel that I did last year so I thought I would share a few pics.

This is the guest bath.  I used a red travertine slab with undermount copper sink.  I had them chisel the edge of the backsplash which gave a cool effect. Knotty alder cabinets.  the floor is awesome, but you can't see it.  It is a brick pattern rough travertine.  We still need to do the hardware.

This is the family room with the new bamboo blinds.  It still leaves a perfect view of the golf course.              

And last the dining.  I put the bamboo's in here as well.  We still need a skinny buffet under the mirror.  I found one with castle doors that I can hopefully still get.  And we plan to replace the table with a more massive carved wood table and probably replace the chairs  with these: (in a different fabric).  Ok...off to catch up on some other blogs!

More halloween...

I made my cute little witch a trunk.  Beaded witch shoes with some orange striped witch socks from target.  I put a boa on her and it's adorable!

A little Halloween

Well, I finally got busy on my Halloween/Fall decor.  A client had me do her Halloween  decor last week, so it put me in the mood to get mine out.  Still have a few things to do.  I'll post more when I get everything done.  My kids just love it, but my little one has already messed some stuff up!  Here is a nightime view:
